چکیده
Conservation of genetic resources is essential for the continuation future crop production. Watermelon (Citrul-lus lanatus), a member Cucurbitaceae, widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. The aim this study was to reveal relationships with help microsatellite markers watermelon collection free unnecessary repetitions, determine success SSR (Simple Sequence Repeats) primers developed cucurbits. In study, 96 genotypes good agronomic characteristics were used among geno types collected from different regions Turkey purified up S4-S6 (self-pollination) stage. 33 primer pairs relationship between genotypes. total 67 bands obtained primers. As result UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Method Using Arithmetic Averages) analysis, showed similarity at level 0.84-1.00. number alleles detected per varied 1 6. terms obtained, CMCT44 (5 units) Cgb4767 (6 loci produced most alleles. Primers high polymorphism rate allele excess determined, possibilities use stability analyses, variety differentiation other analyses determined.

Lycopene and Citrulline Contents in Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus)
Lycopene and citrulline contents of 9 diploids (2X) and their artificially induced autotetraploids (4X) and autotriploids (3X) were determined in mature fruit. Changes in lycopene and citrulline during fruit development was studied using fruit of variety XYXA with three different ploidy levels from 15 to 40 days after pollination (DAP). Polyploids, especially triploids, had higher levels of lyc...
متن کاملOrigin and emergence of the sweet dessert watermelon, Citrullus lanatus.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Watermelons, Citrullus species (Cucurbitaceae), are native to Africa and have been cultivated since ancient times. The fruit flesh of wild watermelons is watery, but typically hard-textured, pale-coloured and bland or bitter. The familiar sweet dessert watermelons, C. lanatus, featuring non-bitter, tender, well-coloured flesh, have a narrow genetic base, suggesting that they...
متن کاملSome Physical Properties of Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo L. ) and Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus L.) Seeds
Some physical properties of pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo L.) and watermelon (Citrullus lanatus L.) seeds were determined at a moisture content of 9.87% and 2.87% (dry basis), respectively. The mean values of length, width, thickness and geometric mean diameter were 19.92, 11.30, 3.22, 9.71 mm for pumpkin seeds, and 13.28, 8.00, 2.64, 6.52 mm for watermelon seeds, respectively. The mean 1000 seed mas...
متن کاملCombining Ability Analysis in Complete Diallel Cross of Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. & Nakai)
The experiments were carried out in two research stations (MARDI Bukit Tangga, Kedah, and MARDI Seberang Perai, Penang) in Malaysia. The crossings were performed using the four inbred lines in complete diallel cross including selfs and reciprocals. We evaluated the yield components and fruit characters such as fruit yield per plant, vine length, days to fruit maturity, fruit weight, total solub...
